So in this new place the network is as follows: a cable modem -> wifi router. Presently I’m the only one hard wired in.
What I’d really like to do is increase the upload speed, and obviously the download speed, add a relay or use the same type of router already in use here to repeat the wireless signal. I dont have the foggiest idea of how to go about setting up one to be an AP, but I imagine a few minutes of trial and error should do the trick. My alternative to this is microwave dishes to broadcast the signal for a few miles more than I want.
If any of you have experience in hooking up two wifi routers/APs to spread the wealth, please send a few pointers my way.
Once I have the wireless signal closer to what I’d like to experience, I’m going to push for a faster […]

I’ve relocated my base of operations to Anaheim Hills, off Canyon Rim for the time being. I assure you this is all part of a master plan that I’ll soon let my brain know the details of. So don’t fear the hostname. We should be getting some additional bandwidth soon, I’ll keep you posted.

I have now dedicated close to 10 hours to software configuration and testing all thanks to my new Samsung Blackjack i607. Here’s a few things I’ve accomplished with that time… In an effort to be more organized, I have configured MS Outlook to synchronize with my Gmail email, calendar and contacts. With ActiveSync installed [...]

On the Engine - Part I

Ξ January 17th, 2007 | → Comments Off | ∇ Uncategorized |

First I’d like to mention that I ported the engine to Linux, and FreeBSD. A Mac OS X port is feasible, but I don’t have access to one, so I will have to work with someone to get something out. I’ve settled on using the Portable Network Graphic (PNG) for all artwork and Ogg Vorbis for all audio. Both formats are Free Software, and very easy to use on all platforms. PNG’s have the added bonus of supporting an alpha channel. This will allow artists to specify the opacity of each pixel, rather than marking pixels that ought to be completely transparent with pink, which is what was done in the old code using bitmaps.

I’ve been doing a bit of R&D on the engine. Unfortunately my time has been cut short since my motherboard stopped working properly, and I had to RMA it. That said, I’ve thrown out most of the code that was in the previous version I released and have been rewriting it using a different approach which is already paying off.

Even our masters don’t know the web we weave

Invisible transfers, long distance calls,
Hollow laughter in marble halls
Steps have been taken, a silent uproar
Has unleashed the dogs of war
You can’t stop what has begun
Signed, sealed, they deliver oblivion
We all have a dark side, to say the least
And dealing in death is the nature of the beast
There will be additional details at an appropriate time.

My wife got a pink razr, we tried to put new ringtones on it, but it seems we are “locked out”… riiiiight. Locked out my butt! After some digging i found out how…
OK, so u can charge your phone on the usb port? And u have mpt 4.21a installed? And the last step we need to do is enable multimedia studio so u can add ringtones.
ok. u need to download 2 programs.
1) MSU (motorola software updater) this will get your phone into the correct mode to edit the seem files.
2) P2Kseem - this is what we will use to change the seem files.
here is a link to where u can download them…
Just download them, dont install them yet.
k. plug in phone, make sure it is in as usb modem. then run and install MSU 1st. U will be prompted with a series of 3 or 4 drivers, choose automatic […]
